Where did the idea for a corporate promotional book,

 "How to turn a Sows Ear into a Silk Purse" come from?

One day I carried my 24"x24" watercolor around in my portfolio.

Some time later, 

this is what I did for them:

Small Towns

I've been called a Cross Categorical Artist, which seems to fit.

Yes, I do more than just draw.

I bring a wide range of creativity to projects.

The Cross Plains Main Street Reconstruction Survival Map

is leading me into paying some interesting attention to other small towns.

Here's the first WhiteLine print from my Dodgeville block.

15.5" x 23.5",right off the block, it no longer feels like paper, 

but a well slept in bed sheet. It will look really good once it's flattened. 

 

Sequential thinking

 I tell myself stories when I work.

All the time.

The story makes whatever I'm working on real to me.

The "Strong, Brave, Handsome" series of prints

were all the strong thoughts I had while my dog Booger was gone.

I cut them into cherry boards which were about 18 inches long.

 

I do the same with clients,

although sometimes 

the drawings become three dimensional.
